Actualmente disfruta de una nueva Beca Post-Doctoral concedida por la Funda\u00e7\u00e3o para a Ciencia e a Tecnologia Portugal (FCT), dedicada al estudio de la Escultura medieval Portuguesa (\u201cPortuguese figurative sculpture from the 12<sup>th<\/sup> to the 14<sup>th<\/sup> centuries, knowledge transfers, \u00abknow how\u00bb and artistic itinerancy\u201d). Es miembro del Institute of Medieval Studies (IEM), Universidade Nova de Lisboa.<\/p>\n<p>Con el curso de los a\u00f1os, ha realizado diversas investigaciones sobre escultura e iconograf\u00eda medieval, prestando atenci\u00f3n especialmente a las relaciones entre la escultura Portuguesa desde el siglo XII al XIV y la escultura de otros pa\u00edses de la Europa Occidental en el mismo horizonte temporal. Ha participado en diversos Projectos de Investigaci\u00f3n, como el estudio monogr\u00e1fico sobre la Catedral de Lisboa, <em>Transferencias Art\u00edsticas en la Europa G\u00f3tica<\/em>, y actualmente es miembro del Proyecto de Investigaci\u00f3n:\u00a0 <em>Movilidad y Transferencia Art\u00edstica en el Mediterr\u00e1neo Medieval (1187-1388) Artistas, Objetos y Modelos<\/em> &#8211; <em>MAGISTRI MEDITERRANEI<\/em> (MICINN: HAR2015-63883-P), dirigido por Manuel Casti\u00f1eiras Gonz\u00e1lez \u2013 Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p>Con diversas publicaciones en publicaciones cient\u00edficas, tanto en Portugal como a nivel internacional, y habiendo participado en m\u00faltiples congresos (ver <a href=\"https:\/\/unl-pt.academia.edu\/CarlaVarelaFernandes\">https:\/\/unl-pt.academia.edu\/CarlaVarelaFernandes<\/a> ), es tambi\u00e9n autora de los siguientes libros: <em>Tavira\u2019s Santa Maria Church<\/em> (2001); <em>Memories of Stone: tomb sculpture in Lisbon\u2019s Cathedral<\/em> (2001); <em>The image of a king. Analysis of the tomb of King Fernando I<\/em> (2009 \u2013 bilingual) y coautora de diversos libros y cat\u00e1logos de exposici\u00f3n: <em>Sculpture of Pal\u00e1cio de Bel\u00e9m<\/em>; <em>Building Memory \u2013 collections from Museu Arqueol\u00f3gico do Carmo<\/em> or <em>Antonio Olmo\u2019s Collection<\/em>, entre otros.
